First dance to the Billie Holiday version of Our Love is Here to Stay.
It's very clear, our love is here to stay
Not for a year but ever and a day
The radio and the telephone and the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies and in time may go
But oh, my dear, our love is here to stay
Together we're going a long, long way
In time the Rockies may crumble, Gibraltar may tumble
They're only made of clay
But our love is here to stay
In time the Rockies may crumble, Gibraltar may tumble
They're only made of clay
But our love is here to stay
What was your first dance song?
This is a really sweet picture - you look so happy!
ReplyDeleteOur song was "Your Song," and it was the longest three minutes of my entire life (we hadn't practiced at all and were TERRIBLE).
Aw I love Billie Holliday and all those "oldies" crooners:-) Ours was "La Vie en Rose" the Louis Armstrong version...the one that has like a minute and half instrumental intro that DJ did not skip like we asked...it was a long, slow, painful 90 seconds until we got to the good part!
ReplyDeleteJust Breathe, by Pearl Jam. I never thought I'd have a "modern" song as our first dance, but it was perfect.
